When looking for a sculptor to do a commission, it may be wise to find someone who you love their work and then see what you can work out with them. Ask the questions about the artist, “Have they done their research?” “Is their anatomy correct?” “does the piece move?” “Are they good to work with?” “Have they done this before?” rather than going with the lowest bidder. Just sayin’
Pre-Casts
PRECASTS ARE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A COLLECTOR TO GET A PIECE FIRST AT A SLIGHT DISCOUNT. A PRECAST WILL SIT IN THE CLAY FOR A FEW MONTHS BEFORE THE CASTING TAKES PLACE. THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO PRE ORDER YOUR NEXT PIECE.
By letting a piece sit for awhile, it gives Scott time to take his eyes off the piece and then when he comes back to it, he can see the piece with ‘fresh eyes’. Double checking before it goes into the bronze. This can be very beneficial 😉 !
WORKSHOPS ARE A GREAT WAY TO LEARN DETAILS ABOUT ART AND ITS MANY RHYTHMS. SHARING WITH THOSE WHO ARE ON THE VISUAL ART PATH WITH US. BOTH PROFESSIONAL AND HOBBIST HAVE REACHED OUT AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYED HAVING SCOTT AS A TEACHER.
